LTL Weekly Wonders

At LTL, we will be picking our top three performers of each week during the regular season. In the NHL's opening frame we have chosen Tomas Vokoun, Marian Hossa, and Clarke MacArthur.

*Stats from October 7th-17th

Tomas Vokoun - G - Florida Panthers - Vokoun may have opened the season with a 2-2 record but only allowed 5 goals on 104 shots while posting back to back shutouts, good for a .952 save percentage and a 1.26 goals against average. Vokoun has picked up where he left off last season by playing stellar hockey for one of the weakest teams in the NHL.

Marian Hossa - RW - Chicago Blackhawks - Hossa has gotten off to a very fast start recording 5 goals and 4 assists in 6 games, good for 9 points. After not being able to start the beginning of last season due to a shoulder injury, Hossa looks primed to enjoy a full season while picking up the slack for the Hawks off season departures.

Clarke MacArthur - LW - Toronto Maple Leafs - MacArthur went on a torrid scoring pace to start the season by notching 5 goals and 1 assist in only 4 games. This is very special for the Alberta native because Brian Burke didn't bring him in to score goals, rather to play physical along the boards and be good for up to 35 points on the third or fourth line. Leaf fans and Burke will be very grateful and delighted if hes able to show the same skill set consistently all season.

  1. I like how you highlighted these players. Info like this usually gets lost or under-reported. Good stuff!!!
