LTL REPORT: Prospal’s Surgery Successful
New York Rangers forward Vaclav Prospal underwent knee surgery Monday and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks.
The arthroscopic surgery was the same procedure he had to the same knee late in 2009, which put him out of 7 NHL games. Prospal has been sidelined this year since early in training camp.
The Rangers will be missing 35 year-old veteran left winger/center as he contributed 20goals and 38 assists for 58 points with a +8 rating in 75 games in the 2009-10 season.
It isn’t helping the Rangers one bit that forwards Marian Gaborik (shoulder, 2-4 weeks) and Chris Drury (finger, 6 weeks) are also out with injury as well.
