Preds Ink Franson

The Nashville Predators have signed restricted free-agent Cody Franson Wednesday, to a two year $1.6 million contract.

23 year-old Franson was drafted 79th overall by the Nashville Predators in 2005, and made his NHL debut last year where he 6 goals and 15 assists in 61 games played. He ranked second on the team, and led all rookies, in plus/minus with a +15 rating. He also led all rookie defensemen in game winging goals (3).

This is an incredible signing by General Manager David Poile.  The 6’5, 213lbs. native of Sicamous, B.C. is a key piece to the future of the Predators. Nashville skates one of the best defensive games in the National Hockey League which will benefit and help groom a players like Franson.
